Down to LA

I should probably tell you this upfront: this is one long entry. I’m at the Munich Airport and I have nothing to do. So I’m typing this entry here until our flight to LA boards.

I like to travel in solitary. Having Miles with me doesn’t bother me too much though; he’s usually quiet enough that I can forget he’s there. Anna, on the other hand, is loud. She’s a complainer, like her father. She hates the food, she hates the weather, she hates the location, she hates airplanes, she hates LA… I don’t want to deal with it anymore!!

I don’t see how Miles can bear it, but I suppose it’s because she talks enough for the both of them. We’re at the airport right now, and yes, I know we are way early, but somehow Wright convinced Miles, and so here we are.

Miles has everything planned out already. For the first three nights, we will be staying with Wright and his daughter. The next two days will be with Justice; and the last three days we will stay at the Gavin manor. I’ll make sure to put in a good word for you, Serai!

Last time we visited, Klavier gave both Miles and I one of his rarer CD’s. Miles' choice in music isn’t exactly Klavier’s style though; Miles prefers the classics. He’s particularly fond of Mozart and Beethoven. And so at home we have two of the same copy, one completely new. This will be the one I’m giving to Kirth.

I know Anna is excited to be going to LA, despite all her complaining. Miles told me she’s a closet Gavinner’s fan. Of course, I would have offered the CD to her if she wasn’t so annoying. But at this point, I feel as if I did offer it to her, Anna would have to ‘step out of the closet.’ If she did so, she would have an excuse to squeal over everything when we stay at the Gavin manor.

At least now I get the pleasure of watching her pretend (with great agony) how much she hates LA and everyone in it. I’m not the only one who is enjoying this pretending of hers; Miles keeps mentioning Klavier Gavin’s name every so often to see Anna squirm.

The thing about English that I like the most is that Anna can’t read it. Sophia thought there was no need for Anna to learn it, and I’m glad. She’s sitting next to me looking over my shoulder, probably wondering why her name keeps getting mentioned.

Our plane doesn’t leave until a while later. Miles is puzzling his way through a Sudoku book, I’m typing away, and Anna is… well she’s listening to ‘Atroquinine, My Love’ on her iPod and reading my entries at the same time. (Her iPod is a trifle loud and I can hear it from here.)

The thing about Anna is that she likes to hide. She pretends to hate LA when she’s actually looking forward to going. I saw her reading through some of her mother’s books when she has always sworn that she’ll never read them.

Now that I think about it, she’s a pretty normal teenager. I guess I was a bit harsh on her. Anna is interested in the rumours surrounding those movie stars. I wonder what she’ll say if I tell her the few things Serai and I figured out about a certain favourite of hers…

Ah, the airport just announced: Flight to LA is… currently late.

Well, so much for getting my hopes up. (The rest of the entry shall be for my friend Serai)

I haven’t exactly told you much about my family, have I? Alright, let’s start with Sophia and her husband.

Sophia is my older sister of 6 years. She studied to be a journalist but became a successful author instead. Her husband is Bernard Schumann. I don’t exactly remember what his profession is; I don’t think it was a very important one. The Schumann family is very wealthy and even with Sophia no longer writing, they can maintain a rich lifestyle.

You already know all about Anna and her habits… Serai, do you figure I’m being too harsh on her? She’s only 16 after all.

  1. Wow Franny. That longest post you've ever written. Your family sounds quite interesting. Does Anna take your harshness well? I've never been properly 16 so I'm not sure how you would deal with them.

  2. Haha, yes, there's hardly anything to do at the airport!! Miles managed to finish the entire Sodoku book... how I envy his talent.

Oh well, I suppose since she hasn't sopken out or anything, I must be treating her okay.
