When in Munich…

The three of us have lived here for a while now. Oh yes, I said ‘three’ and I meant ‘three’. The three von Karmas. (Well, Miles doesn’t really count, now does he?) Hardly anyone knows about our elder sister, it always comes as a surprise to know of the oldest von Karma. Her name is Sophia. She was a brilliant author, but then she married and dropped her career to take care of our niece… usually I wouldn’t say this of a family member but what a fool.

I’ll say this right now, I don’t like her husband. The few times I’ve managed to have conversations with him, he was always very cold towards me. I’m glad he stays away whenever Sophia visits the two of us.

Sophia’s daughter is staying with us at the moment because Sophia and her husband are on their second honeymoon in Berlin. Her daughter’s name is Anna and as much as Miles enjoys her company, Anna reminds me too strongly of her father. It can get kind of awkward around the house when Miles is away. We just can’t seem to carry conversation.

And Miles is away right now. He’s in Berlin as well, prosecuting some robbery case. So it’s only me, Pesu, Anna and her dog. Anna’s dog is named Phoenix, and you probably have no idea how much I detest him. He’s almost as annoying as his namesake.

Sophia’s husband bought the dog Phoenix for Anna a couple years ago. He used to study in America and knew all about Wright. I suppose this is one of the reasons we can’t get along. The other being Anna and her drawing talent. Do you know what she drew as a gift for Miles and I? She showed it to us yesterday when she arrived.

I suppose she thinks her picture is funny. Miles seemed to think so too. It’s insulting! (The man playing the triangle and the lady playing the cello are acquaintances of her father’s.)

I’m wishing Miles will come home soon. I really need some fresh air.
